What does Luffy want at the end of his dream? One Piece Film: Red ending explained
THE ending of One Piece Film: Red left many fans confused - here's everything you need to know.
Many fans have speculated the final scenes show Luffy becoming the Pirate King - but that isn't the case.

What does Luffy want at the end of his dream?
Luffy's character desires to fine the One Piece treasure and be crowned as the new Pirate King.
He wishes to steal it from Gol D. Roger but has to undergo an extensive journey to find the sacred treasure on the hidden island of Laugh Tale.
The protagonist completes a series of conquests in his battle to secure the title, to bag himself the freedom it boasts.
But, at the very end of the film, viewers were shocked to discover Luffy had a different goal.
His real intention is "to make a new era" with the power that comes with being the Pirate King - not to be a pirate himself.
This could include creating a fairer world for the characters around him and destroying the tyrants in charge.
The revelation unfolded after Luffy's childhood friend Uta was baffled by his desire to become a criminal, after she had suffered a traumatic experience with them herself.
