James Joseph Colbert is an American professional golfer. Colbert was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He attended Kansas State University, where he finished runner-up in the 1964 NCAA Golf Championship, before graduating and becoming professional in 1965. Colbert has won the PGA Tour eight times, including twice in 1983 when he was 15th on the silver list of his career. As a senior, Colbert won 20 Champions Tours, including one major senior championship, the 1993 Senior Players' Championship. Colbert worked as a golf analyst for ESPN and has its own golf course management company in Pahrump, Nevada. He also helped design a golf course in Manhattan, Kansas called Colbert Hills, ranked by Golfweek as the best public golf course in Kansas and ranked as the eighth best golf course in the state by Golf Digest. Colbert was inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
