Frederick "Fred" Hickman is an American announcer and presenter and editor of the evening news of the African-American cable news channel Black News Channel. He has also worked with CNN, TBS, YES Network and ESPN. Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, he graduated from Coe University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1978, joining as the original co-host of CNN Sports Tonight in 1980. He was received the CableACE Award in 1989 and 1993, and was a 2004 New York Sports Emmy Award Winner.
